* 為什麼要做泰緬邊境孩子的明信片？
我在泰緬邊境從事人道救援工作，也生活在泰緬邊境四年。不論是工作與生活，我都與這裡的泰緬邊境逃亡的人們結下難解的緣分；緬甸境內長達六十年的戰火，造成大批緬甸人被迫離家，客居異地泰緬邊境。這一群人，是難民、移民、無國籍的人；也是與我們一樣，追求著希望與夢想的人。於是自己經常問著自己，我到底還能做什麼呢？有這樣的機會用眼、用手、用心去觸摸、感受難民朋友們的真實處境，他們的痛苦、快樂和對於明天的焦慮；甚至產生關聯、共鳴，還能夠一起哭，一起笑。雖然自己也經常掉入那，承受著泰緬邊境上流離失所人們的痛楚；依舊明白自己終究是個外來的過客─我畢竟還擁有「選擇」的機會。

泰緬邊境的孩子，說故事─寫明信片計畫，是由我個人將2009年青舵獎國際參與組得獎獎金捐出，製作而成的中英文明信片。我做這件事的動機，是單純想要將獎金回饋出來，取之於哪裡，就用之於哪裡；也藉由緬甸孩子的影像，讓他們說自己的故事，說著他們想要上學的想望。在網際網路幾乎取代用手寫字的時代，希望經由你們的手和筆，寫一張明信片，再讓你們的朋友知道，在世界的角落，還有這樣的一群孩子；同時透過明信片的遠遊，讓他方好友，重拾一份簡單的問候。

Global Campaign for the Release of Aung San Suu Kyi and Burma 's Political Prisoners

-Taiwan Action on 19 June

TFBN Calls for Immediate Release of all Political Prisoners.

Global Campaign in solidarity with Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi is launched on 19 June, which coincides with her 64th birthday, calling for the immediate release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all other political prisoners. Taiwan Free Burma Network (TFBN), along with all other communities and organizations supporting Burmese peoples in their struggle for democracy, deplores the recent arrest and trial of Aung San Suu Kyi. These are examples of downplaying democracy and human rights on the side of Burmese military junta. Attention form the international communities is necessitated by the military junta's defiant attitude in terms of democracy and human rights.

For leading Burmese peoples to pursue democratization, Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest for more than 13 years during the past 19 years. Despite the expiration of house arrest recently, the military junta bluntly accused her of "breaking terms of house arrest" and started trial for the allegation of "sheltering an American visitor". She is currently held in Insein Prison and waiting for her next trial on 26 June. Her attorney, Nyan Win, pointed out that the prosecution is politically motivated and it is all about to prevent her from participating in the upcoming election.

People are jailed or treated inhumanely for their political opinions in Burma. Families of those also suffer from economic hardships. The number of political prisoners increased from 1,150 to 2,100 after the Saffron Revolution. Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) launched a global petition for the release of political prisoners, with estimated more than 680,000 people from 220 countries or regions signing open letters to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, calling on him to include the immediate release of 2,100 political prisoners, including Aung San suu Kyi, in his priority.

International human rights organizations also coordinated "64 for Suu Kyi", which has enlisted many Hollywood stars and politicians worldwide. A joint statement by 107 former political prisoners from 107 countries also urges Burmese military junta to immediately release 2,100 political prisoners, including Aung San Suu Kyi, and also urges UN Security Council to institute arms embargo against Burma.

TFBN, working along with artists, coordinates annual concert on her birthday. This year, groups including Kou Chou Ching, Chang Jui-chuan, Loh Tsui Kweh Commune, Chairman, Tonic, The Village Armed Young, Underflow, Tieh Chih& Blaire Ko, Message, Indulge and exiled PUNKGOD work together and will present a music collection "FREE BURMA For Freedom in Captivity" at concert. Besides championing love and peace in solidarity with Aung San Suu Kyi and human rights activists in Burma, they aim at raising public awareness in Taiwan of the plight of Burmese peoples.

The concert this year will take place in Jhonghe and Yonghe, home to the largest Burmese community in Taiwan. During concert, we will write birthday cards for Aung San Suu Kyi and all other political prisoners. With «Happy Birthday to Aung San Suu Kyi» by PUNKGOD, TFBN invites all to give their blessings to the Burmese. A booklet "FREE BURMA Things You Never Knew" will also be released, to inform those interested of the real Burma and the responsibility of Taiwanese in international humans rights affairs.

Aung San Suu Kyi once related democratization to the release of all political prisoners. Taiwan had survived martial rule and struggle for democracy. These experiences are held dear by civil society in Taiwan and will be working on guaranteeing Burma's freedom by using Ours.

「0619全球聲援翁山蘇姬與緬甸政治犯-台灣的行動」

台灣自由緬甸網絡TFBN：緬甸政府應立即釋放所有緬甸政治犯！

今年的6月19日是諾貝爾和平獎得主翁山蘇姬64歲的生日，在這一天全球各地將發起同步聲援翁山蘇姬的行動，要求緬甸政府儘速釋放翁山蘇姬與所有緬甸政治犯。台灣自由緬甸網絡(TFBN)與國際上所有社群與組織一同支持緬甸人民，譴責緬甸政府最近對翁山蘇姬的逮捕與審判，認為這是緬甸政權又一個藐視人權跟民主的例證，因而國際社會的持續關注更顯重要。

翁山蘇姬因帶領緬甸人民追求民主化而遭受軟禁，在過去的19年裡，已被軟禁超過13年。雖然最近一次軟禁的期限已經屆滿，但是緬甸政府以一位美國人潛入翁山蘇姬的住宅為由，以「違反軟禁規定」的罪名將她起訴，目前翁山蘇姬被囚禁在硬心監獄（Insein Prison），接受審判，下次開庭時間為6月26日。翁山蘇姬(Aung San Suu Kyi)的辯護律師奈溫(Nyan Win)表示，翁山蘇姬認為，緬甸政府對她的指控跟審判，都是出於政治動機，目的是阻止她參加明年大選。

一直以來，緬甸民運人士因為不同的政治主張而入獄甚至遭到不人道的對待，許多人的家屬也因而受到牽連、經濟陷入困境。袈裟革命後，緬甸內部風聲鶴唳，政治犯從1,150人增至2,100多人，民主運動的處境愈來愈艱困。根據緬甸民運團體「救援緬甸政治犯人權組織（AAPP）」發動釋放緬甸政治犯全球連署的統計，截至五月底，全球共有220個國家和地區的人士，約68萬人，聯名簽署一封請願信，呼籲聯合國秘書長潘基文，將努力爭取包括翁山蘇姬在內的2,100名緬甸政治犯獲釋列為緊要任務。

此外，為了聲援翁山蘇姬將於獄中度過的64歲生日，國際人權組織串連發起「為翁山蘇姬64慶生(64 for Suu Kyi)」運動 (http://www.64forsuu.org/)，呼籲全球民眾在到網站留言，表達支持。全球多名好萊塢巨星、政治人物紛紛上網留言，對翁山蘇姬致敬。更有全球23個國家的107名前政治犯連署聲明，要求緬甸政府立即釋放包括翁山蘇姬在內的緬甸2,100多名政治犯，同時呼籲聯合國安全理事會建立對緬甸武器禁運的全球機制。

台灣自由緬甸網絡(TFBN)多年來用音樂聲援緬甸，在翁山蘇姬生日當天舉辦年度演唱會。今年，台灣自由緬甸網絡與獨立音樂界的好朋友，包含拷秋勤、張睿銓、濁水溪公社、董事長、主音樂團、農村武裝青年、暗流、張鐵志&柯智豪、Message、Indulge等，以及流亡海外的中國樂團盤古，一致認為台灣不能在國際人權議題上缺席，因而共同製作【FREE BURMA-獻給被拘禁中的自由】音樂合輯，並將於演唱會中發行。除了實踐搖滾的精神就是愛與和平，表達台灣音樂界對於翁山蘇姬的聲援，以及對緬甸人權的支持，更希望能透過音樂與樂團的影響力，讓更多人經由認識了解緬甸的處境，跨越國界互相關心。

今年的年度演唱會不同於以往舉辦在LIVE HOUSE，將主動走進人群，來到在台緬華社群最多的中永和社區。訴求上，將與全球同步為「救援緬甸良心犯」，除了聲援翁山蘇姬早日獲得釋放之外，亦要求釋放緬甸所有的政治犯。演唱會上，將為翁山蘇姬以及所有緬甸政治犯過生日，現場將規劃生日祝福區，播放盤古樂團的作品《為昂山素季過生日》，邀請台灣民眾為自由緬甸獻上祝福；也將出版《緬甸人權手冊：你所不知道的緬甸》，邀請民眾深入認識真實的緬甸，看見自身在國際人權事務上的責任。

翁山蘇姬說：「對所有真心盼見緬甸改變的人而言，釋放政治犯是最重要的事。」台灣走過戒嚴與追求民主化的過程，公民社會對得來不易的自由謹記在心，將致力於推進台灣民主的進程與社會改革，並用我們的自由來關心緬甸的自由！

全球聲援緬甸政治犯簽名活動報告

嘿，你/妳是不是也在參加我們活動時留下了聲援緬甸政治犯的簽名呢？如果是，你/妳的簽名就要前進聯合國囉！！！

這個由位於泰國的「救援緬甸政治犯人權組織（AAPP）」發起的全球簽名蒐集活動，在五月底暫時告一個段落，根據他們的統計，全世界總共有超過65萬人參加這項簽名活動！發起組織最近將把所有簽名提交到聯合國秘書處！讓聯合國秘書長潘基文知道，有六十五萬人都希望他將「釋放緬甸政治犯」列為第一優先的協商議題。

這項連署是為了讓全世界知道，緬甸目前有超過2100位政治犯在牢獄裡。自從去年十月以後，這些為緬甸人民發出聲音的人士，有350位被判處重刑，全部的刑期加起來總共超過了104年。這些事實顯示緬甸政府打壓民主社會，用嚴刑峻法壓制人民言論自由的基本人權。

關心緬甸政治犯處境的人權團體希望聯合國要有更積極的作為，在與緬甸政府進行協商時，把釋放所有緬甸政治犯列為第一要件。

「除了釋放所有政治犯，我們什麼都不要！！！」這是所有緬甸民主支持者的共同心聲。相信在台北的五月活動中，簽下名的你/妳也是如此盼望的。援助緬甸政治犯組織的創辦人之一Bo Kyi先生說，「現在全世界的都在看聯合國秘書長潘基文要怎麼做！」

How many more people will continue to sacrifice their lives for freedom and justice? What does it take for people to remove their hatred and prejudices, and to learn to forgive and love one another?

For years, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has dedicated her life to try to teach us about justice, love, and peace. Two years ago, the people of Burma joined hands and voiced their frustration during the Saffron Revolution, risking their lives to oppose the uncompromising, merciless junta. With their voices and actions, they have impressed us all on the universal desire for democracy and freedom.

The Taiwan Free Burma Network (TFBN) has always acted as a force to unite Taiwan’s civil society. It has actively served to support our brothers and sisters in Burma who still live under the shadow of fear and oppression.

This year, the TFBN has compiled a music collection from like-minded artists and friends to dedicate the album “Free Burma” for those held in captive in Burma. Through their lyrics and melodies, we hope our message of LOVE and PEACE will continue to spread, and to give hope to people who continue to live in oppression. This music collection is an impressive collaboration among artists working for independent music in Taiwan.

We hope that through this special collection, people will become aware of the injustices in Burma and elsewhere. We hope that we can join forces to achieve real democracy and human rights one day in Burma. We shall answer Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s call, by using our liberty to help those who still live without it.

Through our music, we hope to pass along our wishes and support for those still living in fear and oppression. We hope that our action will provide a glimmer of hope to those who are forced to become child soldiers, to those who are imprisoned for their opinions and dreams, and to those who are deprived of their liberty and happiness. We hope that one day, all of them will find a way back home.
